Moto Guzzi V50 III

This is a wonderful bike to drive.

First I wanted to change it in a scrambler....

than to a caferacer.....

 

and now I think: let it original

 

 

Great sound by the way

 

 



Mine Triumph T140 had Triumph silencers and not from BSA

 

Ok

a lot of people  think that the silencers are BSA ones,

but that isn't so

Triumph had them aswell but they are longer,

so the kickstart won't hit the exchaust

 

So if you looking foor this kind of silincers on you're Triumph....

 

they excist

Benelli 250 2c 1972 first serie different parts

Some may know some don't

but the first serie had different parts

than the later ones or as

the Moto Guzzi / Motobi ones

I've been to the Koperteutenrally today 5-5-2013

 

I go every year and of course you see a lot

of the same people and bikes,

but always also new faces.

Update 23-4-2013 Benelli 250 2c first serie 1972

I met Sytze van den Berg from Holland and he was one of the mechanics of Rob Bron.

Now Rob Bron was a very good racer in the 70-80's

He drove in the same races as Agostini, Sheene and Turner

He also drove a topspeed of 342 km/u - 212.50 m/h on the 200 miles of  Daytona in 1978.

Now you know where I'm talking about.

Now Sytze is very into Benelli 2 stroke.

So I met him last week and he was very pleased to see me !!!!!

Why?



Now first I asked him te look at mine engine if I need some new bits and pieces

Then he told me that it was one of the first series of the 250 2c.

Even the crankshaft was from the first serie he told me.

(i didn't know there was a different one)

The pistons had grooves (see photo)

And even the manifold (intake befor the carbs)where the early ones

He looked at the complete bike with the different footrests (see photo)

and the early framenumber (just 4 figures)

Aprilia taillight

Borrani rims (record)

Inox mudgards

Grimeca double leading brake shoe (L+R)

Marzocchi front

Tomaselli handlebar and so on....

Than He told me I got a very rare nearly original bike

Just the silentium silincers are from a later model but they are nearly brand new

So, not only I met somebody who knows where he's talking about, even met a nice person who was very pleased he saw all the beautiful original early stuff of the 250 2c

Update Benelli 250 2c from 1972

Did some cleaning last night and I'm pleased what I found under the dirt.

Nearly new exhaust.

The seat looks brand new now

The borrani rims shine, so it can only go better with this bike

I bought today a Benelli 250 2c model 1972 with original Dutch licenses and blue plate from march 1974.
I think it's already for 99% a caferacer except for the handlebar
If you change that in a M bar you nearly there

It got

original Benelli caferacer seat
and RVS mudguards

Updates Yamaha XS 850

Here some pictures about the Yamaha XS850 triple.

Did some polishing and found some better looking parts.

Still looking for nice parts......

I bought a Yamaha XS850 last week

 

I'm looking for parts of this bike

It's a Yamaha XS 850

Headlight

exhaust

flashlight

 

UPDATE 21-02-2013

 

Did find a headlight flashlight and some other pieces for the XS850.

Did painted the wheels and brakes into black

The colour was the same as the the brown of the tank.

Too much brown......

Put nice flashlights on it , also the hard to find rear flashlights european style, and a nearly brand new original handlebar

Also changed the haedlight ears and today I'm getting an original headlight with the post.

Did some polishing except the engine because I still have to work on that

Next week I'm gonna change some gaskets of the engine

There was my license plate(in Holland the plate stays with the bike)

 

As you can see the silincers are different than mine

I have BSM on it

The bike did the ton and had a beautiful sound

It don't have to be a big bike to have a lot of fun

I was always behind the tele when it was on.

It was one of mine favorite tv series of that times.

Did you know that the original actor( Henry Winkler) was afraid driving motorcycles.......

Bikes I had part 2 Yamaha XS650

This was mine first XS650

It was a D from 1977

A couple of weeks ago I checked the registration,

and the guy who bought it from me 14 years ago, stil got it

This was mijn home made caferacer.

It had a 750cc kit from the USA

The kit was used on dirt track races.

It was really fast

Another beautiful caferacer I bought from a friend of mine

He was busy to change it with high handlebars

no (moto guzzi) lemans fearing and more

Didn't like that and bought the bike to change it back to caferacer

Special story about this XS2

found in a shed where they did restore engines of little ships

So this bike was fully covered with diesel oil during the years.
This was also my luck, because this was the result when tthe Yamaha was polished

This bike I bought because I liked the '70s style of it

It was an eyecatcher

This was a SE but I changed it in an early version of the seventies.

Except the wheels as you can see

But includng the metal sidepanels

So you can make them fit on SE frame
